Our first Safety Expo Tayside took place in October last year. This event, which we run in partnership with leading safety industry specialist AquaTerra, was held in Dundee. As well as the new venue, the Safety Expo Tayside had a new format and audience group.
The purpose
In keeping with the ethos of the Aberdeen-based Safety Expo, the purpose of the Safety Expo Tayside was to bring smaller niche health and safety specialists under one roof and showcase their expertise to local companies.
The venue
We were delighted to work with Dundee & Angus College to host the Safety Expo Tayside within their Kingsway campus. The conference element of the event was held in The Space, a 200-seat theatre which allowed attendees to enjoy presentations and safety demonstrations in comfort. An additional dedicated space was set aside for visitors to browse exhibition stands from 11 different safety-related specialists.
The format
With a focus on encouraging the next generation of health and safety professionals, a separate slot for students was organised in the morning. Many young people took advantage of the opportunity to learn about life in the QHSE industry from experienced professionals. The event then opened up to a wider business audience from midday onwards.
The feedback
Feedback from exhibitors, students and delegates was overwhelmingly positive.
Diary date
The next Safety Expo will take place at AquaTerra in Kintore on Friday, 19 May. Block off the space in your calendar now and watch this space for updates.
